FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES MY DISPOSABLE CAMERA INCLUDE DEVELOPMENT?
Yes, development from a professional film lab is included with your purchase of an Analog camera. We know developing disposable cameras can be a pain, that is why we made the process so easy! Just drop your Analog disposable camera in the included mailer and sit back and relax. Your developed pictures will arrive directly to your phone via the email you used to register your camera. We know you may have a favorite local camera shop or you develop your own film, so we're working on the logistics of selling Analog cameras without development included. Sign up for our mailing list or follow our socials (@analogcc) to stay up to date!
WILL ANALOG DEVELOP CAMERAS OR FILM THAT ARE NOT ANALOG BRAND?
Absolutely! We have the ability to develop ALL disposable cameras (ie. Kodak, FujiFilm, etc) and 35mm film. You'll just want to purchase our Mail-In Film Development service (details below).
When you order our Mail-In Development & Film Scanning service, we will mail you a physical envelope (pre-paid postage) to bring your camera/film directly to our film lab. Make sure you purchase one for every camera/roll of film that you have! Included with the envelope will be a card that has a QR code. Just scan the code, register your email, and put the card + camera/film in the envelope and drop it off at a post office or in a blue USPS box!
HAVE YOU RECEIVED MY CAMERA/FILM YET?
As film users ourselves, we get how exciting it is to see the results of your photos! That's why we process, scan and send your film within 2 business days (usually sooner) after receiving it. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do to locate your film on its way to us. That said, it is extremely helpful to only reach out to our team if it has been over two weeks since you mailed your film or camera back.
For additional context, we use Business Reply Mail which is a premium service from USPS. We're required to have a mailer designed to United States Postal Service specifications and pay a little extra and, in return, get a much more reliable service (although no tracking capabilities currently). While it certainly reduces the number of lost packages, we do still experience shipping delays.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE MY MAILER?
Please keep your mailer in a safe place while you use the camera. If you can't find your mailer, you may order a replacement here. The address for our film lab is 12466 Magnolia Blvd, Valley Village, CA 91607 if you prefer to mail it in on your own!
WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGOT TO REGISTER MY CAMERA OR FILM?
If a camera or film comes back to us unregistered (through the QR code on the back) or without a development card included (for standalone mail-in film development orders), we have no way to know who's camera it is! If you sent a camera in and haven't heard from us after two weeks of your return, please reach out via the form on our "Contact Us" page and we'll do the best we can to locate your photos.
HOW IS MY CAMERA SHIPPED TO THE FILM LAB?
Your return postage is included in your purchase and fulfilled by USPS Business Reply Mail. When you order a camera, you will receive a white poly mailer with the return address printed on it; no postage necessary. Standard shipping times range anywhere from 3-6 business days.
HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHERE TO SEND MY DEVELOPED PICTURES?
When you receive your Analog camera, there will be a unique qr code on the back that you will scan to link your camera to an email. Make sure you register your camera before you mail it back to us so that we know where to send your photos.
If you purchased mail-in film development, you will receive a card with a unique qr code on it that you will scan to link your camera to your email. Please register your email and include the card with your film/camera so that we know where to send your photos
HOW LONG DOES DEVELOPMENT TAKE?
Your disposable camera pictures will be developed and returned to you no later than 2 business days after we receive them at the film lab (usually it will be the same day). Because of recent stress on the mail system, we have noticed return shipments taking longer than usual. On average, it has taken anywhere from 2-8 days to receive a customer's returned package. Note that this is only an average and some packages may take even longer. If you have shipped your Analog camera back to us with the included mailer for mail-in development, don't worry we fully expect to receive your package; even if it might be taking a little longer than usual. In normal conditions, return shipping will take anywhere from 3-6 business days.
DOES DEVELOPMENT INCLUDE DIGITAL SCANS OF MY PICTURES?
In addition to processing your film, we include digital scans of every exposure. You still get authentic disposable camera shots, but in a format perfect for easy sharing with friends and family on social media accounts (like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Tumblr and Pinterest) as well as messages (like text, WhatsApp and email). When launching the company, we surveyed many film photographers, and the overwhelming majority of the artists valued quality digital scans of their work. We love shooting film and staying in the moment, but realize that it was about time for a few very necessary improvements to help streamline developing (and make it cheaper).
ARE PRINTS INCLUDED WITH DEVELOPMENT?
At this time, physical prints are not included in your purchase. This is one of the reasons we are able to keep the disposable camera and development so cheap! If you receive a picture that you love, and want to get it printed, just reach out to us via the form on our "Contact Us" page and we’ll let you know our favorite places for printing disposable camera pictures. One of the reasons why we chose to offer only digital scans of your film is because of how easy it has become to send digital files for printing. Using one of our recommended printers will produce the exact same results as if the film processor printed the images; both are just printing digital copies! That said, we do hope to offer prints in the near future, so keep an eye out for the addition of that feature.
CAN YOU, ANALOG, USE MY PICTURES WITHOUT MY CONSENT?
Your pictures are YOURS. We will never send, steal or use any pictures without your explicit consent. We know that there are personal memories captured on your film and that is why we take the upmost care to protect your privacy. That said, if you're open to sharing some of your pictures, we'd love to share them on our socials or website with the rest of the Analog family! Just submit your favorites to our email (shop@analogcc.com) or our Instagram DMs (@analogcc).
ARE MY NEGATIVES RETURNED AFTER DEVELOPMENT?
At this time, film negatives are not returned. We are looking into ways to return negatives for customers in the future. If your negatives are important, please contact us before purchase.
ARE CAMERAS RECYCLED AFTER THEY’RE DEVELOPED?
All components of the camera are recycled to the best of our ability after processing. The vision for the future of Analog includes a redesigned product that is much more sustainable and easily recyclable. We want to thank you for your support of our small business so we can turn the “disposable” camera of the past, into the “sustainable” camera of tomorrow.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY REGISTRATION CODE IS GONE OR MISSING?
If your registration code is unreadable or gone, you will need to contact us at shop@analogcc.com BEFORE mailing in for development. We will provide you with a card to include with the camera to make sure we can get your pictures back to you.
