There are a few considerations when ordering single-use cameras, especially if you’re going to customize or brand them. Here are our top suggestions on questions you should be asking companies if you’re considering buying film cameras from them.
Film
What film and film speed are used in the cameras?
A great idea can turn bad when you sacrifice quality parts for cheap alternatives. Not all film is the same so make sure the film is a recognized brand name and a number higher than ISO 200 or 200 speed. Analog uses Kodak ISO 400 speed film to ensure that pictures don’t come out overly dark if you forget to use the flash.
How many exposures (pictures) come with each camera?
Again, cheap prices can often mean suppliers are cutting corners. Your camera should come with at least 27 exposure film. Each Analog camera comes with preloaded with 27 pictures.
Camera
Does the camera come with flash?
Disposable cameras use film that will require flash in low light situations. Make sure you’re not giving people a camera that can only be used during the day. Analog cameras include flash for perfect shots in all conditions.
Customization/Custom Branding
What resources do you have to help me with my design?
Customizing a camera label can be tricky, make sure the company you’re working with gives you the right tools for the job! For example, Analog provides each of our clients with a Photoshop and Illustrator template for design. We work with your design team or can offer you our own for a small fee to make sure your design is perfect. We continuously collaborate until your design is perfect and will send you a final proof to accept before production. If there are any deviances from the final proof, we offer a full refund guarantee on our products.
What material is used for custom labels?
Make sure to not cut corners, especially when it comes to your brand and the material its printed on! We recommend a thin, semi-gloss, water resistant material to make sure your brand is always in the best light. Analog uses a thermal transfer film with permanent adhesive.
Development
Do your cameras come with development included?
Every disposable camera MUST be developed, the question you should ask yourself is whether you want to shift this responsibility to your customer or take care of it for them. There is no right or wrong answer as it is highly dependent on your situation. Analog cameras default to having development included but can be ordered without if you’re interested in just the camera for a cheaper price. We are not aware of any other disposable camera supplier that offers development with your purchase.
How can my customers/partners get digital uploads of their pictures?
These pictures are meant to be shared! Make sure customers and partners can easily tag your brand on social media by providing digital copies of all photos.
Other
What is your lead time?
Planning ahead gives you a lot of flexibility! Analog has a standard lead time of 4 weeks from finalization of design because we have many internal checks to make sure each order is perfect. Our lead time can be expedited for smaller orders or on one-off cases.
What happens if I have an issue with the product or service?
Your order is important. Make sure a team based in the United States is ready to assist anytime you need help. Analog was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, where our entire team still works today.
